my favorite thing is how post-redemption Zuko is so wryly sarcastic ok like omg
Firebending Masters: My great-grandfather Sozin happened. Firebending Masters when Aang makes them dance: This better teach us some really good fire bending. When they’re stuck: Think about our place in the universe?
The Boiling Rock: How are you gonna get there? On Appa? Last time I checked, prisons don’t have Bison Daycares.
The Southern Raiders: If you really want it to feel like old times, I could, uh … chase you around a while and try to capture you.
To Aang when he dismisses Katara’s anger: That’s cute, but this isn’t air temple preschool. It’s the real world.
The best of all:
“I know! We can show him all his baby pictures, and all the happy memories will make him good again!”
And, there’s more omfg– no wonder him and Sokka clicked, once Zuko loosened up he’s just as savagely sarcastic as Sokka, except Zuko’s is a lot more wry and Sokka’s is really jesting, but still. That’s why the two of them are #bros4lyfe on the Old Friends Poster.
“Okay, we’ll be sure to do that, Guru Goody-Goody.”
IM SCREAMIN THATS MY FAVORITE ONE HOW COULD I FORGET THAT ONE LMAO
Honestly? They’re the ship I ship most in this show. I love them as brothers. Sometimes I like to imagine that their friendship is the reason the South accepts Zuko. Then they regret it, because if they thought Sokka was a handful before, now he’s got a partner in crime.
EVEN BETTER: Know how Sokka gets his sense of humor from his dad? Can you imagine the three of them on sarcasm and hunting trips? Of course, the point is never really to catch anything. They just want to hang out and enjoy themselves.
OR imagine exchanges like this:
Katara (so done with their shenanigans): Why don’t you two just get married already.
Zuko: Ugh, have you met your brother?
Sokka: I’d be a great wife. Look here’s your dinner.
Zuko: This is the worst dinner I’ve ever had.
Sokka: Maybe if you brought something decent home once in a while.
Zuko: Why? So you can ruin that, too?
Sokka: You don’t appreciate me.
Every time this happens, Katara thinks it’s impossible to be more done with these two, but secretly she loves it.
