Pine Sway Cowl by Juju Vail (free pattern on Ravelry)
Finished my phoenix shawl! I’ll take better pictures later; there’s a thunderstorm rolling in, so I just grabbed a couple quick snaps in the garden and then ran back in the house before the rain hit. The overcast sky really doesn’t do the colors justice.
Pattern is Illumine by Nim Teasdale. Knit on US4 & US6 needles using Vivid Fiber Arts Lux in the Caliente colorway.
Evening rebagel because I’m really proud of this one. ❤
Oh, wow, that’s gorgeous! I’m super envious, I still seem to screw up whenever I have to count big lace projects. And that gradient is fantastic!
Stitch markers help a lot. So do lifelines.
Even if you’re an experienced lace knitter, you’ll still screw up from time to time. I do not even want to tell you how many times I had to rip out and re-knit row 123 on this shawl. I have no idea why that particular row was such a bugaboo, but it was. Every row before and every row after went smooth as silk, but row 123? Damn near drove me to tears until I finally, finally got it right.

The Icelandic bind-off – “A medium-speed, stretchy bind-off that’s good for intermediate knitters”
… What is this.
Saving this for later… OMG
So hypnotic and fluid.

This past week I’ve been through hell. But this WIP has been the absolute greatest distraction for me. I’m so grateful that knitting has the power to lift my mood and distract me from everything.

There’s something really pleasant about this shade of green with these needles
I almost wish that the yarn itself had this brown in it 😥
